To protect the lens. I’ve tested this in a studio against not using a clear filter and there is no disadvantage.
Lighting:
Arri 300 W and 150 W Tungsten Lights
I haven’t yet fully switched to LED. I have been buying these Fresnel lights from eBay and love the control of the barn doors and the smooth fall off. The 150w run at 2900K, while the 300’s run at 3200K.Aputure Accent B7C 7W RGBWW LED Smart Bulb
These bulbs are incredible. Using an app you can control the intensity, color temp, or RGB color. The app has a color spot meter, and other useful features. They are fairly directional and bright enough for a very small set and have a high CRI. I recommend getting 2 or 3 of these.
